Biographical history
Benevenuto de Sousa, filho de Manuel João e Margarida Rita, nasceu na localidade de Assentos, em Torres Novas, em 22 de junho de 1859. Foi padre, diretor e proprietário do jornal "O Petardo", o qual foi publicado entre 1 de julho de 1902 e 1 de outubro de 1910. Foi o fundador da obra Apostolado da Imprensa.
